Random Internationals’ monumental artwork, Rain Room, made its Southern Hemisphere debut in Melbourne as part of the Jackalope Art Collection in July 2019.

A 100 square metre field of continuous rainfall, Rain Room is a responsive environment engaging all the senses; millions of water droplets respond to your presence by ceasing to fall wherever movement is detected, allowing you to be fully immersed in the rain while simultaneously protected from it.

We sought to create hype, awareness and performance media to ensure strict ticket sale quotas were met to get Australians to experience Rain Room for themselves. Resulting in an extended season due to the continued performance and reception of Rain Room in Melbourne.
